The Venture Foundation welcomes charitable gifts from corporations, organizations,
foundations, individuals and families in an effort to further the mission of Camp
Venture. Giving opportunities range from unrestricted annual gifts, to capital
campaign pledges for specific causes, to planned gifts of life insurance, real
estate and personal property to benefit Venture’s endowment. For more

A gift of cash or check is the simplest and most immediate way people can contribute
to the Venture Foundation. Cash gifts are deductible up to 50 percent of your adjusted
gross income, and any excess deduction may be carried over for 5 additional years.
Many employers have matching gift programs through which your generosity to the
Venture Foundation can be multiplied. Check with the human resources department
at your place of employment to see if they match gifts to the Venture Foundation.
Giving appreciated securities, such as stocks, bonds, IRA’s or mutual funds
to the Venture Foundation allows you to avoid capital gains tax on the appreciated
portion of the asset given The Venture Foundation welcomes memorial and tribute
gifts, which may be given to honor a special relative, friend or associate. Donations
may be unrestricted gifts or designated for a specific purpose or area of Camp
Venture. Notification is sent to the honoree or family. The amount of your gift
will not be mentioned.
Brick Program/Giving Tree
Purchasing an engraved brick or a leaf from the Foundation is a great way to honor
or memorialize someone. All bricks are installed on our “Walk of Remembrance”
located at Camp Venture’s Day Habilitation Facility in Sparkill and all leafs
are part of our “Giving Tree” located at our Therapeutic Equestrian
Riding Center in Stony Point.
You may establish a special endowed fund at the Venture Foundation in your own
name, or in the name of someone meaningful to you, with a minimum gift of $10,000.

Wills and Bequests
The easiest and most affordable way to give a gift is to remember the Venture
Foundation in your will with a bequest. Your bequest will likely qualify 100 percent
for estate and inheritance tax reduction and, if made with tax-qualified assets
(IRA, 401K, Keogh Plans), some income tax to your heirs may be eliminated.
A gift of life insurance can allow a donor to make a more substantial contribution
than would otherwise be possible. The Venture Foundation can either purchase a
new policy on your life, and be the beneficiary, or be named as the irrevocable
beneficiary of an existing life insurance policy that is no longer needed by your
Life Income Gifts/Trusts
Life income gifts such as lead and remainder trusts require significant financial
investments on the part of the donor as well as the involvement of an attorney
or estate planner to ensure that proper tax savings and, in some cases, income
may come to the donor or to their loved ones.
of real estate can be given outright to support the Foundation, and the donor
receives a tax deduction for the fair market value of the property. Real estate
can also be used to fund a life income arrangement for the donor or their loved
ones. An owner of a personal residence or land may give the property to the Venture
Foundation while retaining the right to occupy the home or land.
Tangible Personal Property
A charitable gift of tangible personal property to the Venture Foundation can
be a good way to divest yourself of financially valuable items that may be to expensive
to insure, are highly appreciated, and therefore subject to capital gains tax,
or that may be of significant organizational value to Camp Venture.
